The scent of freshly mowed grass, berries along the trail, and herbs on the alpine pastures: In summer, the Zillertal shows off its greenest side. Around Fügen, over 200 km of hiking trails lead from the valley through the alpine pastures up to peaks over 2,000 m. Many of them start right outside our front door.
For families, the Zillertal is one big adventure playground in the summer. At Spieljoch, you’ll find a water play park, a children’s via ferrata, and a barefoot trail; in Fügen, there’s the thermal spa with an outdoor pool. Back at the Central, you can cool off in the rooftop panoramic pool.
With the Zillertal AktivCard, you can use the mountain railways, buses, and trains, as well as the outdoor pools and swimming lakes in the valley during the summer. You can pick it up right here at our front desk.
From easy alpine hikes to summit tours: There’s something for every fitness level around Fügen. The Spieljochbahn takes you up to 1,800 m in just a few minutes, and the hiking bus stops right at the house. And since Stefan is a state-certified hiking guide, you’ll get tips from us that you won’t find in any brochure.
A leisurely ride along the Zillertal Bike Trail or a challenging ride on singletrack trails: In the Zillertal, you’ll find both. Popular routes include the loop around the Kellerjoch, the panoramic road to Hochfügen, and the Zillertal Bike Trail with stops in Zell am Ziller, Hippach, and Mayrhofen.
Golf: The 18-hole golf course in Uderns is located just 3 km from Fügen, nestled in the Zillertal Mountains.
Rafting: Take a rubber raft down the Ziller River with up to 8 people. Suitable for ages 10 and up.
Paragliding: From the Spieljoch at 1,800 m, you’ll take off solo or in tandem with an experienced pilot and glide 1,200 meters down into the valley.
